Wig Revamp Service

Bring Your Wig Back to Life

Has your favourite wig lost its softness, movement or polished finish?

Before replacing it, let HairCity give it the professional attention it deserves.

Our Wig Revamp Service is designed to refresh, restore and restyle suitable human hair wigs that have become dry, tangled, dull, frizzy or difficult to manage through regular wear.

From deep cleansing and conditioning to detangling, styling and finishing, we assess your wig and provide the appropriate care to help restore its appearance and wearability.

What Is a Wig Revamp?

A wig revamp is a professional maintenance and restoration service for wigs that need more than routine at-home care.

Over time, wigs can accumulate styling products, oils, dust and residue. Repeated heat styling, improper storage and everyday wear can also affect softness, movement and appearance.

A professional revamp can help address these issues and give a suitable wig a cleaner, fresher and more polished finish.

The result achievable will depend on the wig's hair quality, age, construction, previous treatments and overall condition.

What Does a HairCity Wig Revamp Include?

Our standard revamp process may include:

  • Initial wig assessment
  • Gentle cleansing
  • Product and residue removal
  • Careful detangling
  • Conditioning treatment
  • Drying
  • Hair preparation
  • Styling
  • Finishing
  • Final quality check

Additional restoration or customization services may be recommended where appropriate.

Deep Cleansing & Conditioning

Human hair wigs need proper cleansing and conditioning to maintain their appearance and manageability.

Our revamp process removes accumulated products and residue before conditioning the hair to help improve softness, movement and manageability.

The products and techniques used will depend on the wig and its condition.

Professional Detangling

Tangles and matting can make an otherwise beautiful wig difficult to wear.

We carefully work through suitable wigs using appropriate techniques intended to minimize unnecessary stress on the hair and construction.

Severely matted wigs may require additional work and may attract an additional charge.

In some cases, matting or damage may be too advanced to restore satisfactorily.

Restyling & Finishing

A revamp isn't only about cleaning the wig.

Once prepared, your wig can be restyled to help restore its shape and overall appearance.

Depending on the wig and service selected, finishing may include:

  • Straightening
  • Curling
  • Waves
  • Body and movement
  • Parting
  • Basic shaping
  • General styling and finishing

Where you want a significant change from the wig's existing style, additional customization charges may apply.

Lace Care

The lace is one of the most delicate parts of a lace wig.

As part of the assessment, we can examine the condition of the lace and identify visible issues that may affect the wig's appearance or future wear.

Where appropriate, the revamp process may include careful cleaning of suitable lace areas.

Please note that torn, excessively cut or severely damaged lace cannot always be restored through a standard revamp.

Adhesive & Product Build-Up

Repeated installation can leave adhesive, styling products and other residue around the lace or hair.

Where suitable, HairCity can carefully address product build-up as part of the revamp process.

Heavy adhesive accumulation or specialist removal may require additional treatment and may be quoted separately after assessment.

Wig Restoration

Some wigs require more extensive attention than a standard wash and style.

Depending on the condition of the wig, HairCity may recommend additional restoration work.

This may apply where there is:

  • Significant tangling or matting
  • Excessive product build-up
  • Very dry or difficult-to-manage hair
  • Lace contamination
  • Loss of the original style
  • Uneven shaping
  • Previous poor maintenance

Any additional work will be discussed before proceeding where it falls outside the selected revamp service.

Can Every Wig Be Revamped?

Unfortunately, no.

A revamp can improve many wigs, but it cannot reverse every form of damage.

The final result depends on factors such as:

  • Original hair quality
  • Age of the wig
  • Frequency of wear
  • Heat damage
  • Chemical processing
  • Shedding
  • Matting
  • Lace condition
  • Cap condition
  • Previous repairs or alterations

HairCity may decline a revamp where the wig is too damaged to work on safely or where the likely result would not justify the cost of the service.

Human Hair Wigs

HairCity's revamp service is primarily designed for human hair wigs.

Human hair generally allows greater scope for professional cleansing, conditioning and restyling than many synthetic fibres.

If you are unsure whether your wig is suitable, send us details or photographs through WhatsApp before bringing it in.

Wigs Purchased from HairCity

If your HairCity wig needs professional maintenance, we're here to help you look after your investment.

Regular professional care, combined with appropriate home maintenance, can help preserve the appearance and useful life of your human hair wig.

Contact us when your wig begins to feel difficult to manage or simply needs a professional refresh.

Wigs Purchased Elsewhere

Your wig does not necessarily have to have been purchased from HairCity to qualify for our revamp service.

We may accept suitable human hair wigs purchased elsewhere, subject to assessment.

Because we cannot verify the original quality, processing history or construction of every third-party wig, the achievable result cannot be guaranteed before assessment.

Can You Revamp a Rental Wig?

HairCity rental wigs are professionally maintained as part of our own rental-care process.

Customers should not independently submit, wash, colour, repair or professionally alter a HairCity rental wig without authorization.

If you experience a problem with a rental wig during your booking, contact HairCity directly for assistance.

Can You Change the Style of My Wig?

Yes, depending on the wig.

If you would like your revamped wig to have a different finish—such as changing from straight to curls or waves—tell us when booking.

More significant changes involving cutting, colouring, lace customization or other permanent alterations may fall under a separate Wig Customization Service rather than a standard revamp.

Can You Colour My Wig During a Revamp?

Colouring is not automatically included in a standard Wig Revamp.

Where HairCity offers colouring services, the wig must first be assessed to determine whether it is suitable for further chemical processing.

Previously processed or damaged hair may not be suitable for additional colouring or bleaching.

Colour services, where available, are quoted separately.

Can You Repair My Wig?

Minor issues may sometimes be addressed during a revamp, but structural repairs are different from routine restoration.

Repairs involving lace, cap construction, significant shedding, ventilation or replacement components may require a separate assessment and quotation.

We will advise you if your wig requires repair rather than—or in addition to—a revamp.

How Long Does a Wig Revamp Take?

Turnaround time depends on:

  • The condition of the wig
  • Level of tangling
  • Product build-up
  • Services required
  • Desired styling
  • Current workload

After assessing the wig, HairCity can provide an estimated completion timeframe.

If you need your wig for a particular event, please bring it in well in advance.

How Much Does a Wig Revamp Cost?

Pricing depends on the condition of the wig and the work required.

A relatively well-maintained wig requiring cleansing, conditioning and styling may require less work than a heavily tangled or neglected wig requiring extensive restoration.

Additional services may therefore attract additional charges.

Where appropriate, HairCity will assess the wig and advise you of the applicable service or additional costs before proceeding.

Preparing Your Wig for Revamp

Before submitting your wig:

  • Remove personal accessories that you want to keep.
  • Tell us about previous colouring or chemical treatments where known.
  • Tell us if the wig has previously been repaired.
  • Explain any particular problems you've noticed.
  • Let us know how you would like the wig styled after the revamp.
  • Advise us if you need the wig by a particular date.

Please do not attempt aggressive detangling immediately before bringing in a severely tangled wig, as this can cause additional shedding or damage.

After Your Revamp

Proper home care will help maintain the result for longer.

After collecting your wig, we recommend:

  • Storing it correctly when not in use
  • Detangling gently
  • Avoiding excessive heat
  • Using suitable human hair products
  • Avoiding unnecessary product build-up
  • Handling lace carefully
  • Following any specific care guidance provided by HairCity

A little regular maintenance can prevent a wig from reaching the point where major restoration is required.

Revamp or Replace?

Sometimes a professional revamp is worthwhile. Sometimes replacing the wig makes more sense.

If the hair or construction has deteriorated significantly, the cost of extensive restoration may not represent good value.

Where possible, HairCity will help you understand your options so you can decide whether to revamp, repair or replace.

Give Your Favourite Wig Another Moment

A wig doesn't necessarily need replacing simply because it no longer looks its best.

With the right professional care, many quality human hair wigs can be refreshed and made easier to wear again.

Let HairCity assess your wig and determine what can realistically be achieved.
